Incident Response
Caulfield Hebrew Congregation's Actions On Employee Allegations
31 March 2022
Hineni Youth & Welfare informed Caulfield Hebrew Congregation (CHC) about an allegation made against a CHC staff member. As a result, the staff member was immediately stood down and has been banned from all access to our facilities.
Our main concern is with the alleged victim, our youth members and the broader CHC community. We are also providing access to support services to anyone who has been affected by this event and have partnered with Jewish Care Victoria to establish a direct line for those seeking support.
The CHC Board has already commissioned an internal review into all safety policies and procedures surrounding the conduct of staff and contractors. We are also liaising with the Commission for Children and Young People and Victoria Police to ensure that all required information is readily available.
We will continue to support the community and staff though this difficult period.
If anyone is suffering distress from the situation, we urge you to please call Marilyn Kraner, Jewish Care’s Divisional Manager, Individual & Family Services on her direct line: 8517 5928.
